What is the Bishara Law? |
Following the serious charges brought against former MK Azmi Bishara, MK David Rotem of Yisrael Beytenu proposed a bill would see all MK's, past and present, who were under investigation for committing security offenses against the State immediately stop receiving a salary and/or a pension "It's absurd that an MK who was elected to faithfully serve the State of Israel acts against it and can then enjoy the benefits he earned as a representative in the Israeli parliament," said MK Rotem. The bill, he said, is meant to "protect democracy from those who wish to stab it in the back."
