Bill banning those who visit enemy states from Knesset duty approved
The Knesset passed a bill on Monday determining that any Israeli citizen who visits enemy territory without a proper permit will not be able to serve in the Knesset for seven years.  The bill was initiated by MKs Zevulun Orlev (National Union-NRP) and Esterina Tartman (Yisrael Beiteinu), following the affair of MK Azmi Bishara (National Democratic Assembly). The bill was approved by a majority of 52 to 24 MKs. Former ambassador to US joins Yisrael Beytenu
Former Israeli Ambassador to the United States Daniel Ayalon has joined Israel Beytenu and is expected to run for Knesset on behalf of the party in the upcomin elections.In the first stage, Ayalon will serve as chairman of the World Yisrael Beiteinu, a role which has not been manned since the death of former Knesset Member Yuri Stern.Former Ambassador Ayalon was the political advisor of three prime ministers – Benjamin Netanyahu, Ehud Barak and Ariel Sharon. Since the conclusion of his tenure in Washington, he has served as chairman of the Nefesh B'Nefesh organization and has engaged in international consulting along with Attorney Dov Weisglass, Sharon's associate.
